Bluetooth TL + HTC Thunderbolt

I recently purchased a HTC Thunderbolt but I am not able to pair it to my '05 TL. I put my phone on "discoverable" and go to phone setup -> pairing. The HFL of the TL keeps looking for the phone, but never finds it. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I have a 07 TL & HTC EVO. To get mine to pair I checked the box to make the EVO discoverable & also selected scan for devices. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. Regretfully, didn't work either. The weird thing is that the HFL was working fine that week! I tried pairing a different phone BB and it didn't work either.

I know it sounds weird, but since my battery on the car died today, would there be any relation between the car battery's charge and the HFL. I can't imagine there would be.

Maybe I need to have the HFL looked at, but I sure as heck not looking into purchasing a new module if it will cost ~$700!

I recently purchased a 05 TL as well. My HFL is locked, so I have a different problem. However, I did go to the HFL website and you can do a compatibility search on your phone and HFL. That site told me my BB Bold was incompatible, and I would suspect the Thunderbolt is likewise incompatible. I think there is a technology gap between the HFL in the 05 TL and the 2011 telephones.

Don't know if this helps, but just sharing my experience. Good luck.

Hi, new here. i just got a 05tl, and the first thing i did was pair it with my thunderbolt. what you do is you go into your phone and make it discoverable, then you go HFL setup main menu. using the voice commands it will walk you through the process of establishing a link with your phone and the car. the pohone will not see the blue tooth link. you actually have to do it through the HFL. its simple. took me 5 mins. both my thunderbolt and my wifes Droid X is if linked.

so basically step by step

1. go into HFL main menu,
it will prompt you for male or female voice. take your pick.
2. pair bluetooth device.
it will ask for a code, just make something up really quick like 1234.
3. turn on bluetooth on the phone and make it discoverable.
4. your phone will ask for a code,
the code you input into the HFL in step 2. 1234

and then magically BAM its connected. oh and one more thing. its all done with voice commands through the HFL so you have to push button on the left side of the steering wheel every time you input a command.

suprisingly, the call quality is AWSOME. i cant edit my posts yet but just so you know i might have missed a couple of steps in there somewhere. but you get the idea. it will ask you if you want to hear a prompt or a ring for incomming calls. i chose the prompt. it does work you just have to know how to set it up.
