Question Bluetooth reconnect

Do all your BT phones ask to "Accept requested Pairing" each time you get into the car? I have a Blackberry 7100T. Works great, except if I forget to click "yes" every time I get into the car, it does not work. I suspect is is a security feature, but it is inconvenient (as are most security features!)

I never had that problem but please note that I am not using the same type of phone (Audiovox PPC-6600).

It always pair automatically.

I would suggest that you check your Bluetooth setup on your Balckberry, there must be an option in there to pair automatically with Paired Devices Only.

Check in the Bluetooth-Setting- Accessibility , there must be an option to check for

Allow Other Devices to Connect

(I am not sure that Blackberry's are using the same menu names here)

and

Paired Devices Only.

Best regards

I think I found the culprit. Different terminology for the Blackberry, but There is a field under Bluetooth called "Discoverable". I changed to "YES". Next time I go to car...I think it will bypass the reconnect dialog box.
Thanks.

You do not want to make your blackbery discoverable, this is a security risk, as any other bluetooth device can "see" your phone and access it. You need to make sure that your HFL is listed on your blackberry as a trusted device. This should eliminate having to confirm the connection everytime.

Trusted

Thanks for the tip. I saw that bucket too, but could not find in users manual.
So, I'll turn Discoverable off. And Trusted on. Right?
We'll see how that works.

It worked. Trust is on. Discoverable is off. Don't need to confirm anymore.

Thanks again.
