Bluetooth Questions

I am new to the TL and the bluetooth handsfree. Must everything be done internally within the system or can I simply call someone on my phone and the car will pick it up and play it over the speakers. Can someone please give me the cliffs notes version on how the blue tooth works. Thanks in advance for the help.

the only way I know of is to dial the # on your phone then hit the bottom hfl button and say "transfer". your call that you dialed manually will transfer to hfl.hope this helps......

That's what I do too. I have heard/read that some phones will auto transfer to the HFL system when placed into speakerphone mode. Not so with my VZW V9m.

This is assuming he paired the phone to the HFL, of course. I have the distinct impression from the OP's question that he hasn't done this and doesn't know how, as to which I have to echo datmrman that the OP should read the HFL manual AND his phone's manual (because every phone is different as to how you put it into discovery mode).

"auto" transfer of calls

The functionality to "auto" transfer a call to the handsfree is dependant upon the hands free unti, not the phone. (although it IS depndendant upon how you setup the security in the phone for the pairing you have with that hands free unit)

Simply put, I have about a dozen different hands free units, including 4 in vehicles. Some of them automatically mute the stereo in the car and pump the call through the hands free setup. The acura (mine is an '05) is not one of those.

(have tried several different blackberry models, treo models, dozens of motorolas, ans many Nokias. plus one samsung)

All exhibited the same functionality in regards to this topic.

When was Bluetooth installed on the TL? Also do you need the Navi option to receive Bluetooth? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.

Bluetooth was installed in the 3G TL from the beginning of the new model in 2004. You do not need the navi option to receive Bluetooth.

YAHOO... Although after reading up here NAVI sounds like a nice option.

I will soon be replacing my 98 Accord with this as the family DD. I also have an S2000 and am a frequent member of the s2ki.com board.

Thanks

HFL Doesn't allow Auto-Transfer as a rule.
