Bluetooth phone question

I have a bluetooth (Motorola flip) phone and is programmed for my TL. If you are talking on a call and then enter and start the car, how do you make the call flip over to the hands free link? After starting the car, I get the little phone logo on the upper dash display, and then flip closed the phone but that disconnects the call. Is there a work-around for this situation. Likewise can the reverse be done - turn off and leave the car while continuing the call? Or am I expecting too much from the technology? Thanks. Steve

Hit the phone button on the wheel and say "transfer" - works fine for me
