bluetooth MP3 Play through Handsfree

I stumbled onto something that might turn into a cool modification. I have noticed that while playing with my paired phone (V710) I can not hear the phone mp3's while in the car. Anytime I use the web or brew apps my handsfree link starts playing all the key "clicks" and phone sounds......
Is there anyway to trick the handsfree into playing the audio from mp3 playback on the phone? That sure would be a nice feature to have a bluetooth mp3 player with my phone

I don't know about the bandwidth- don't even bother to read Bluetooth specs, because HFL has a monophonic connection to the audio system.

Bluetooth 2.0 is available, and it would have both the bandwidth and profiles to transmit music. Unfortunately, I believe only the new Apple Powerbooks have that particular version of Bluetooth, and there are just a few devices that can connect to 2.0 (although it's backwards compatible).

One day, a car will become available that will play your iPod through BT. There's nothing available today.

I'm going to snoop around with some V710 experts. I'm sure there is a way to "modify" the phone to appear to be in a call.....that way the phone sounds are connected to the handfree link.
It will be a fun experiment anyway

Yes. BT stereo headphones have begun to appear. Just Google "bluetooth headphones" and you'll see a list of them, notably:

- HP sells an OEM branded version of a unit from Logitech
- www.bluetake.com/Products/BT420EX.htm

Still, they are rather pricey and few devices have the audio profile BT to transmit stereo. Hopefully that will change soon.
