I read on a couple threads that people have been having problems with their HFL mirophones i have an 04 TL and unless im doing something wrong my HFL doesnt recognize any name that i give it.....i dunno if theres something i have to do to my phone but it messes up numbers occasionaly and whenever i give it a name even one as simple as Mom it either asks me to repeat or gives me some weird combination like #830 or what have u.......I have an 04 TL Non-Navi and my phone is a Verizon Wireless Samsung U740.....its the one that flips both ways ive tried it several times with other bluetooth pieces and it works i figure its gotta be the mic

ooooo yeah that long post and i missed the moral of the story haha so i took it to the dealer and apparently the U740 is currently being tested for compatibility sooo she pretty much told me she wont cover it til its confirmed to be compatible

There is an update for Bluetooth if your car is still under warranty. Search the forum for it. It's also a TSB you can look at. It improved my cars Bluetooth, esp with speech recognition.

do u know if its actually been a recall cuz i can bring that to the attention of the dealer cuz she pretty much just tried telling me that the phone hasnt been confirmed for compatibility soo until it is we cant tell u if its gonna be covered.....but i mean everything but the names work....if i say a number 85% of the time it gets it on the first try but the names just dont work....i gotta take it up there tmw for the window not wanting to roll up (some regulator issue ive read about also on here) soo maybe ill just bitch alot but if u can confirm if there was some sort of a recall or it was a common problem id love to bring that to her attention

dont listen to ur dealer....i also have an 04...all i said was that it wasn't recognizing commands. dont tell them with the phone...just saw things like radio off and whatnot isn't working...i got mine relaced with litterally NO questions asked...if you mention a phone they will immediatly blame it on the phone....
also take note that you have to program and record ur voice saying any name that you want to dial....it will not just call names that u have saved in ur phone...i made that mistake and realized after i a got a new HFL, oh well new one all the better....try programing the names u want to call in the HFL...if still nothing then try the above to get a new HFL...DEF under warranty and costs about $700 for Acura! haha

Hey guys, no offense or anything, but you are much more likely to get replies to your posts if you don't use text messaging "type" typing. It's very tiring to read.

Search the site for the HFL TSB and that will tell you exactly what is covered in the update.

welll i pretty much feel like -----> i didnt know u had to program names into the HFL cuz i know wit my bluetooth headseat it has a sort of STT (Speech to Text) feature and it gives u a list of what it thinks u said how exactly do u program names into the HFL and also i wanna give a warm hearted thank you to dcrandon as ur comment not only held no value to this conversation but actually just seemed like a rant....much appreciated

Dude, I started off the comment with "no offense or anything" because I truly meant to be not offensive. But, honestly, it's tiring to read a very, very long run on sentence with poor grammer, spelling, pronunciation, sytax, etc.

Here's the definition of a "rant":

to speak or declaim extravagantly or violently; talk in a wild or vehement way
a loud bombastic declamation expressed with strong emotion

Based on that, I don't really think it qualified as a rant.

Somebody touched on this, but if you phones is not on the compatibility list I would not expect too much action. It would be nice if all phones they exact same bluetooth implementation, but we know that is not true.

ummmm...yeah i know its all in the love of ball breaking which is why i regret to inform u thats its grammAr.......cmon its not a spelling bee here or anything but if ur gonna break balls u gotta be sensible thats like helen keller laughing at someone in a wheelchair...it just dont make sense haha but yeah ive figure out the problem....i still dont like the HFL it seems like the mic isnt too receptive but its workable til my phone gets the compatibility issue resolved

The phone is completely inconsequential to the problem you describe. When you give the HFL a voice command, you are not talking to the phone, but to the HFL and/or HFL Phone Book. If it does not recognize your command, it is an HFL problem, not a phone problem.

You do, as you now realize, have to load the "voice tags" for your stored phone numbers. I did mine when I transferred contacts. Not sure how to do it "from scratch", but it should be in the Owners Manual.

And, for the sake of us oldsters, type you messages so they are easy to read. Back in the day, we were taught how to write using such out-dated notions as Sentences, Punctuation and Whole Words. Its a stretch, I know, but you really can't teach old dogs new tricks.
