Bluetooth locked

I just purchased a 05 TL 6sd and I was trying to get my blue tooth going and it says to enter the unlock code and I don't have it, Is there a way to reset this with out going to the dealer? Help Thanks

I believe what you are saying is that the previous owner enetered a passcode, which needs to be entered in order to use the HFL (hands free link). If that is true, the HFL will say" the system is locked, what is the 4 digit passcode?"
If that's the case, the dealer needs to cancel the passcode. He may be able to do this over the phone.

Possible answers in order of increasing degree of PITA:
1) Try "1234" for the code.
2) Do a search of the threads here (using "code" and "bluetooth"??) -- I think there were a couple of threads on this problem a year ago or so.
3) Contact former owner
4) See dealer.

Hmmm... Just wondering... Can you get to the System menu? If you can, try "Clear" to reset the system.

Otherwise I THINK I read somewhere on AZ about how to re-initialize the entire BT system, but I don't recall how.

Handy911 is correct, at least for the 08.

Press and release the talk button and say System. The response should be "System options are setup and clear". Press and release the talk button and say "clear". The response should be "This process will clear all paired phones, clear all entries in the phonebook and clear the passcode. Is this what you would like to do?"

Press and release the talk button and say "yes". The response should be "Preparing to clear all paired phones, all phonebook entries, and the passcode. This may take up to 2 minutes to complete. Press and relase the Talk button. After the beep, say "OK" to proceed, or say "Go Back" or "Cancel". "

Press and release the talk button and say "OK". Eventually the response should be "System has been cleared. Returning to the main menu.".

I hope that works in the 06.

Hi, I recently bought a 2006 TL and have the same issue. The system is locked and even if I try to say "system", it does nothing until I enter the passcode. I tried the obvious ones, no love.

I'll search around in here for the procedure...
