Blackvue DR380 installed in the 'S'

Great camera...installation was done via fuse box so it's always on and even features a parking mode that monitors battery level.

All wires completely hidden from sight.

Here's a short 1min clip with disabled sound. Note the BMW pulling out of the parkade without looking.

I have mine wired into the auto dimming mirror... didn't feel like taking the whole car apart to have the damn thing running all the time.

Wish I thought of that. I just ran the wire for mine above the headliner and down the front passenger pillar (behind the SRS cover) behind the dash, under the center console and into the DC power supply in the arm rest. Do you have pictures of how you wired yours into the mirror? Any problems so far?

You have the same exact set up as me: same car, color, rim choice, tint %, even the same mis-matched rear bumper! The only difference is I have the DR400G

What's that black box under the dash? That's not part of the camera is it?

the black box is a power controller module that's optional but recommended so that if you ever use parking mode, it would disable itself if the battery on your car fell below x amount of volts, preventing battery drain.

I have the DR400G-II mounted the same way behind the headliner and down the pillar to the fuse box, i opted the most reversible way just in case i wanted to remove it.

No problems, was really easy to do too. Just had to take off the light/garage thing off and I volt tested my way to the auto dimming mirror connector. There's enough room up there that I only cut the cigarette lighter bit off in case I wanted to bring the wire down to the fuse box in the future. There's probably pics around here to change your HFL which will show you how to take that part of the car apart.

It's not that hard to use a multimeter after you figure it out the first time.

I've got one of these in my car and gives me peace of mind while driving/parked.

Hows this camera holding up? Been researching these things for a few years now but yet to find a good reliable one with good video. The Blackvue is notorious for overheating problems is why I ask.

^ Humm that is either the DVR-027 or a replica. I don't like how that site doesn't not list the model number because there are many fakes out there. The 90$ list price is also way high which is also common on fakes.

The DVR-027 is the most popular & most reliable dash cam out there but it should only cost $60-70 and there are only a few known authentic sources

I like this version without the IR leds

I have two of the DRG400's, one in the wife's car and one in mine. She was actually just re-ended and the guy drove away...too fast to get a good shot of his license plate. My wife was too dumb to follow the guy so we're shit out of luck. Anyway, they are both holding up well after 2 years. I actually bought three and the 1st one died after less than 72 hours.
