Black Screen On Navigation

I recently purchased an 06 TL, and was told that the radio/ navigation screen doesn’t work. The screen does turn on but just shows black. I tried cleaning the disk but still no results. Any other tips before I decide to contact Alpine

Short of checking the fuse to the navi unit, it will probably have to be refurb by alpine.

it does have a build in fuse, a 20 Amp fuse to be exact. I have checked the fuse but it seems nothing is wrong with it, in terms of the wires

Hi,
i thought about a fuse build in the drive. You describe the fuse under the steering wheel.

Yeah the fuses, are located on the driver side, under the steering wheel. I have checked only the Radio Fuse which uses a 20amp and it there’s nothing wrong with it. The screen on my navigation turns on but with only a backlight glow and sometimes a white line going through it or flickering. My stereos anti theft light turns on which could be a good sign.

Sadly I still haven’t figured it, I’m at the point of taking it to a shop to figure it out. I’ll keep you updated

Well OP I gotta be honest. My 06TL did the exact same thing. I had nothing to lose so I took a hammer and banged on top of the unit about 5x. I then started the car and the navigation booted up and has been working without issue the last 2 weeks hahahahahaha.
