What is everyone using to clean their touch screen, navigation screen, and interior? I am looking for something simple and was thinking of maybe using something like

Meguiar's quick interior detailer with a microfiber towel

Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer | Canadian Tire

Any thoughts or any other ideas? I was also thinking there are Armor All wipes that are quick and easy but I am not sure how good they are.

carry a microfiber cloth to clean interior!
if you have some really grimey stuff, use a mix of light water and soap!

there's also a detergent that I cant remember the name of but it comes in an Iconic white bottle with blue stripes....almost like borax

I find that specific interior cleaners such as the one you linked get expensive over time....

keep it simple with light soap and water!

 

Personally, all I ever use is two things:


1. a clean, wet, microfiber for wiping down all the dust and whatever small amounts of coffee spillage the wife manages to dump ()


2. a clean, dry, microfiber to follow up after the wet one, so no water spots are left. This can be especially noticeable on the screen, or any shiny bits.


you should never need more than some soapy water, like Spaceman mentioned. And don't go buying crap like armorall, unless you like cheezy looking shiny interiors.

I use Plexus and a high quality microfiber cloth.

 

For the touch screen I use pure water and a microfiber towel.

We had an issue with letting our dog into the back seat after a close encounter with a skunk. Not that close, and no choice as the skunk was still coming.

We ended up using "Autoglym Interior Shampoo" and "Leather Cleaner". Took three applications over three days but the skunk smell is gone. (Products were obtained at Canadian Tire). Took longer to eliminate it from the dog. (Golden Retrievers have a lot of fur.)

As for touchscreens, microfiber cloths work for me.

Yes....that worked out quite well. It wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.

And I did give the tomato products some thought, but much prefer tomato sauce in my pasta. Much easier to clean the dishes afterwards as well.

 

or any knock off cleaner thats blue in color has been the best screen cleaners for navi and laptops etc.

True. I occasionally got water spots so I liked the evaporation cleaning aspect of alcohol based cleaners.

My OCD hits hard.

 

I use either a natural or synthetic damp chamois cloth for the inside glass and navi screen. Every once in a while, I use a lint free cloth and fresh soapy (soap make for car exteriors) to wipe down all the plastic and leather(ette) surfaces. Seats and window sills still need to be wiped down eventually from body oils, lotions, sweat, suntan lotions, etc... Maybe 2-3 times a year I use a leather car product like Lexol or glare free protectant for the plastic surfaces.

I also get the vac out and get the seams of all the bottoms of the seats. Dirt/sand can sometimes work like sandpaper in the seams and cause damage.

How about Windex and a microfiber towel? Is that OK to use on plastic screens?

 

Dampen a micro fiber cloth with water.Squeeze it out tight.Wipe screen,leaves no streaks.Also a great way to clean windows and mirrors and upholstery.

 

At my work we use steam (water) to get any dust off screens and wipe away with a microfiber. Than we follow up with alcohol 70% which dried up instantly and is spot and print free.

 

Windex is very dangerous to use on plastic screens. Water and a microfiber cloth is all that is normally required. Otherwise, use a product made for laptop screens - or just use some steel wool - that also reduces glare.

 

neat, never thought about an alcohol wipe! since it does dry instantly, it will leave no streaks!

 

Not really. Take an alcohol wipe to your laptop screen. You won't do that a second time.

 

Also note the vehicle has an AGM battery for this very reason.
