It’s been about 10 years since I owned an 07 TL and probably close to 8 years since I posted on this site. From the 07 went to a 12’ tl sh-awd, then an Audi A5 for a few months and couldn’t do it. Had a Lexus IS 300 and realized I’m over having a car payment. Well I finally found an 07 Type S after 4 months of searching and no more car payment either! Found this gem with only 52k miles on it, 20 mins from my house at an Acura dealership, full blown 7 page Carfax clean as a whistle! All it needed was some paint touch up on front bumper and fender and new a pillar trim piece. Needless to say I remembered the audio always sounding good in Acura’s but I went backwards in time so obviously there’s going to be a few first world problems come up lol. I purchased an isimple ishd651. Come to find out they aren’t compatible with 07-08 my question is I’ve searched a lot on here and there are two others I see come up a lot. Grom and another one. My question is which one will hook up, retain steering wheel controls, still good sound quality and show info on my display. Thank you for your input and responses. Feels good to be back. I remember these forums were always so helpful and friendly, I had needed some major help installing in my old 07, had dynaudio esotec with a 4 channel bridged arc audio amp. I was new to bridging amps. Guys name was actually Jerry N I believe. Incredibly helpful. Still friendly forums on here right? Lol. Old one I miss Welcome back!
Did you try/install the isimple 651? I have it running in my MDX with nav traffic and the 4.xx nav system like the TL-S. Works very well! GROM is good and has a carplay unit, so does navtool but navtool has ripped off people in the past and were banned from here.
I did actually install it. Found a nice write up on here by someone where I just had to pop off a few pieces and get in from below near gas pedal. It freezes the screen quite a bit and almost disables the touch screen. No music ever pops up or anything. Tried resetting, letting it sit for 15 minutes or so. Entered my radio audio code multiple times. Even hooked up everything to it, rca wires, mic. All of it. Couldn’t get it to work. Even messed with the dip switches but nothing. I already have sent it back. I found a 29$ adapter from Best Buy but....I want my steering wheel controls actually lol
I just installed this last week in my Type-S, it works perfectly so far. Haven't had a day to route the mic from the trunk to the front but for music it's been great. Extremely easy to install
Thanks 860, already ordered it and should be here Thursday.

Hello Gents - how's the experience been so far with this product? Music quality good? I believe I saw a video where someone mentioned the BT signal faded when they had passengers in the back seats...although that may be a different product. Anyway, would love to get some feedback. I might pull the trigger on this as I'm tired of using a bluetooth cassette adapter. It's convenient, however when it dies...I gotta plug it in for a lengthy charge time. Thanks in advance!
Definitely worth the purchase. I had a aux and tape adapter. I ordered this a little worried. Sound quality is just fine. Automatically connects. Streams content and info on XM1 screen. Took 15-20 mins to install. Only single downside is you have to hold the next button on the steering wheel for like 2-3 seconds to change song. But using the tune knob makes it instant. It’s definitely worth it. Make the purchase you won’t be disappointed. FYI I use an iPhone 11 or 11xr something idk. The newer one lol.

If you're debating it.. I would buy it. I was on the fence and after catching it on sale I am mad I didn't get it earlier. I agree having to hold the channel + button on the steering wheel for like 2sec to change songs is a little annoying, but that's it. Music quality has been fine. Has worked flawlessly with Spotify. Did not notice any diffetence with people in the back seats. Can't comment on phone calls since I still haven't routed the mic.
Although, the Nexus 7 install is always an awesome option if you have time and are a DIY guy. This was so easy to install though, hard to beat. ALSO, I would recommend trying it out before you put the trunk back together just to be safe

Awesome! Thank you both for the feedback! The 2-3 second does sound somewhat annoying haha. I’d definitely look into
the nexus mod but my navigation is working flawlessly now that I got myself an 08 TL-S (knock on wood). Thanks again Gents!
