I just got my new 8830 through Verizon today. I got it paired no problem, but the call transfer option is not working. When I'm on a call, and try to use call transfer, it just says "there is no call in progress".

Any ideas or suggestions?

 

Are you having trouble transferring TO the HFL (Hands Free Link) from the handset, or trouble transferring FROM the handset to the HFL?

I have a VZ 8830 and have not had that issue with my 2004 TL. The transfer works a-ok. If you can't get the HFL transfer feature to work, you can do it from the phone with the instructions below:

Hit the menu button on the Blackberry (the button to the left of the mouse wheel thing), then hit the "a" key twice, then hit the "enter" key on the keyboard (just right of the "$" key) - this selects the "Activate Handset" option and moves your in progress call from your HFL to the Blackberry. The same directions work to transfer a call from the Blackberry to the HFL, the only difference is that the menu option will say "Activate AcuraLink" or something like that instead of "Activate Handset".

 

I only use it for transferring from the phone to the HFL.
