basslink power led stays on

I just installed a basslink ii amp/sub in my 04 TL. I used speaker level inputs and took advantage of the auto on feature. The problem is the power led on the basslink remains on even when everything is turned off. The manual did state that the power led can remain on for 5-10 min after shut down but mine remains on way beyond that. I had to disconnect the power wire because I was afraid of battery drain. Does anyone have a similar experience? Should I be concerned of battery drain? Thanks.

I have the + wire(8 gauge) from the battery and a ground wire to the chassis in the trunk. I didn't need a remote wire bacause it has the auto on feature when using speaker level inputs.

Where are you getting the speaker level input signals from? Sub or from near factory amp?

Well, the sub is drawing power directly from the battery and it seems like your auto-on feature isn't working. You should consider using the remote wire.

I have a basslink installed and I used a remote turn on. Simply tap into fuse #32 in driverside fusebox and run a wire to the remote turn on terminal of the basslink.

Lamv225 - I am installing my basslink this weekend as was wondering about using fuse #32. I was gonna use an "add-a-circuit" from auto-zone to make it cleaner...though i was wondering if the system will try to draw power from the fuse, i know that fuse spot can't be enough to power the 200w amp. I am gonna run the power from the battery right to the sub, but was wondering about this fude #32 thing....does it only provide the on / off feature or will it draw some power from it too? also i know the basslink has a 20amp fuse...will this matter using fuse 32 under the dash? thanks!

using that fuse will just let the basslink know when aux power is on in your vehicle. My basslink has no problems getting signals from the factory sub lines. Use the fuse as a last resort, running it is alittle overkill in my eyes unless it doesn't work the way its supposed to.

Davie,

When you install your Basslink, do NOT tap off the fuse for your power wire. Lamv is talking about the remote turn on wire which draws very minimal amount of power.

For your main power wire (I would recommend 8 gauge), you will need to run directly to the battery. Make sure you have a fuse on the battery side (not amp side) of the power wire.

Lewmowski - I was under the impression that the basslink only turned itself on when using the speaker line inputs...i planned on using an LOC and using RCA cables as i heard it is a cleaner and better sounding signal. Using the LOC and RCA cables i thought i would HAVE to run the remote turn on to fuse #32? no? how do u have urs set up?
