Basslink Install question

I have searched high and low through the forums for an answer to this question, so I figure it is worth throwing out there.
I have a basslink I am installing. I have run both the power and ground wires to the unit. There seems to be a few different ideas about getting signal to the unit. I tapped the stock sub wires. My question is to use the line output converter (LOC) of the high level inputs that are available on the basslink. I have a two channel LOC and the sub signal is only one channel. I tried to use just one channel of the LOC and it didnt work. I also tried tapping the stock sub wires twice for the high level input, but that also didnt work. I was trying to avoid running another wire from the front for the remote wire, but I will if I have too.

Just want confirmation from someone who has had it work.

You just stated your answer, the LOC won't work, and you can use the high inputs.

You will need to run the remote wire for the sub to turn on.
