AUX port super quiet in 2008 TL-S
Been driving around in the TL-S since late June and I happened to notice that when switching between the regular Radio, XM and then to AUX, I have to really crank the volume to hear my iPod or anything I plug in to the AUX port (like 28 to 30 on the volume, iPod volume is at 75-80%). I still sometimes rock the tape adapter from time to time and notice it is significantly more powerful than AUX.
Anyway, wanted to know if anyone knew if this is a problem with the factory Amp? I may go back to an iSimple if this isn't a quick fix. Anyone else experience this or have a workaround?

A really quiet output usually means that the aux cable isn't plugged in all the way at one of the ends. I had this problem myself when I first got my car, and it was because I wasn't sticking the end all the way into the AUX port. I wasn't able to stick it in all the way because the previous owner broke the tip of one of his connectors, so a piece was stuck in there, preventing me from sticking mine all the way in. I had to replace the AUX port. Hopefully that's not your case.
That's strange. The volume should be plenty at level 10. There must be a problem with the source. It almost sounds like your iPod needs amplification. Have you tried hooking up anything else to the aux port?
Yeah I've tried my Droid Bionic and my Galaxy S4. All three are super quiet.

My XM radio is really quiet. I can have the volume all the way up and it's no where near as loud as my iPod plugged in with the auxiliary cable. I guess my problem is backwards from yours.
Best of luck though! I'd definitely try a new aux cable. I had to replace mine because the original one I was using had a little static in it.

Continuing on the cable topic, I don't want to make you sound dumb, but check the end of the cable (the connector). There should be two black bands on it (stereo) as opposed to one (mono). Also, try applying pressure on it while it's plugged in, and if that doesn't work, wiggle it around. If you get any different results (it gets loud for a second), your port is bad (as in, it's worn).
I've always had to have my iphone turned to max volume to match the sound to the car radio, it's the same for other cars i've driven too. But my iphone saves the volume when i plug it in aux so when i use my earphones it's not on max volume, if that makes sense. The cassette converter is a lot louder for me too.
