Hi. just ordered the US Spec Ipod adapter for my 2006 TL. I believe it plugs into the XM port of the head unit, correct? Is that on the driver side or the passenger side of the head unit. Can it be accessed by taking off the two trim pieces; one just to the side of the shifter, the other to the side of the head unit. Any help would be great before I dive in. Thanks. mike

 

I just installed an iSimple device last night in my 04 TL. I ended up removing the driver's knee panel, side panel of the center console and the metal trim around the center console. It takes about 15min to get it all off but completely worth it.

The connector to the head unit is on the driver's side and there is very little room back there, so hope you have small hands! I had to get my wife to pull the factor plug out and connect the new harness for me.

I used these two posts for help with removing panels and taking apart everything, just don't be afraid to pull after you have the screws out
