Is anyone elses tape deck..
...loud as all hell? I use it to plug my ipod into the radio and i can hear the tape shuffling(?) in the radio even with my radio as loud as vol 8 or 9 and my ipod volume all the way up.
Is mine the only one this loud? If everyones is this loud and its considered "normal" im gonna be ed, its annoying.

Hi rrjc5488,
I think you mean the cassette adaptor from the ipod. I think it depends on the adaptor itself. My son just got an ipod so he gave me his "old" mp3 player. I have three cassette adaptors from the time cars didn't come with cd players. The Radio Shack adaptor makes noise, the RCA one does not, nor does the Phillips adaptor. However the one from Radio Shack has the best sound (bass, treble and volume). The shuffling noise isn't noticable when the music is playing but definitely annoying in between songs.
I am not sure if I want to have the MP3 player in the car at all as would need two wires (cassette adaptor and power) dangling as I don't want to do any hardwiring since my car is a lease. Plus I have not figured out where/how to keep the player put.
I figure I am better off with DVD-A's. I recently downloaded the U-Lead Burn DVD demo together with a patch that is required to work properly (do a search there is a thread on this program). I can fit 99 full CD quality songs (dep on size of each maybe a few less) on each DVD-A. So potentially can have almost 600 of my favorite songs in the car with loss-less quality. The only drawback is that even if you buy the $40 Ulead program you cannot have separate folders for each type of music or artist or album, all 99 songs are together. Plus you don't see the names of the songs on the navi-screen thus if you want to skip to a certain song you need to remember the number.
