anyone can retrieve navi code from serial number

I'm about to buy a navi unit from a guy who don't have the code or the vin from the car it's coming..

Anyone can retrieve navi code from only the serial?

^ only the original dealer who sold the car can retreive the code. maybe the 800 number could help, but i heard the original dealer is the only way.

owners.acura.com.... i believe you can retrieve the code by VIN# , but you'll need to register the VIN on your account...
