Another unpublished feature....

While playing a CD, you can press and HOLD the Seek button and you can seek through a track to find a particular point in the track. No, I do not mean changing tracks, but rather seeking through a particular song. I checked the manual and it does not describe this.

Cool. Just like the Pause feature.

6000 miles and I still love her.

So... I take it that this "seek" function is only one way (forward), right? I was kind of surprised that the CD/DVD didn't have a ff/rew feature (as opposed to next/previous track), but I guess a ff feature would be better than nothing.

Anyhoo... good find!

When you press and hold the disc + button, it will seek forward as Tbone2004 describes.

When you press and hold the disc - button, it will seek in reverse.

You are correct, Tbone2004, that it is not in the manual. Thank you for reporting this find.

OK, so technically it's not in "The Manual". That's because it is in "the manual", A.K.A. the Quick Start Guide.

Under the Anthracite-colored Audio tab, "Using the Disc Changer Controls":

SEEK Buttons: Press to skip to the beginning of the next track (+) or the currently playing (-). Press and hold to move rapidly within a track, either forward (+) or backward (-). Release to stop.

Do we need to add "RTFQSG" to the smilies??

BTW, Ron A - AFAIK, this is the first nugget I've ever seen you miss on. I'd better check outside ... The weather forecast for today in Phoenix was "Eight to ten inches of snow with a possibility of icing conditions." I'll finally get to check out how well my TL does in slippery driving conditions. Yippee!

That was the way my '02 TL-S CD player was too...seeked forward or backword through songs (not just tracks).

This is so funny - usually Quick Start Guide type documents would give you the high level stuff - here it is the opposite - if you want the details - read the QSG, if you just want general stuff - read the much thicker Manual. Ha! Go figure.

Good catch. (Hey does this mean I lose any rep points that I got?)

żGotJazz?-OK, repeat after me 1,000 times: A "guide" is NOT a "manual". It is a "guide". So we are correct in saying it is not in the "manual".

Gotta save face somehow.

You are absolutely correct, though, and my compliments on finding it. Wonder what else is in there?

"Do we need to add "RTFQSG" to the smilies?? " Yes, does someone know how to do that?

Ooh... cool deal. I'm glad to find that I was wrong, and ff/rew are there after all. Excellent!!!

You know, the funny thing is... I actually did read the manuals, and didn't see it. I think that's probably because there are so many freakin' manuals to read, I was probably blurry-eyed when I got to that section. 'Course, I'm still having to refer back to them to "remind" myself about stuff that I KNOW is in there, much less look for something that I'm not so sure about. Information overload! Anyway... thanks for the heads-up.
