Navi 2.4 backup
Navi 2.4 backup
Ok, I need to know something and this is a question to ppl who are very familiar w/ the file system of DVDs. Why would the nav dvd brain read the disc only sometimes?????
I burned a backup of the latest release, 2.4 using a DL disc and Nero. The original nav disc in my car was 2.05B and when I put the burned 2.4 disc in at first, it said 'unformated dvd'. However, the second time I put the disc in it updated normally and I thought everything was gravy. Now sometimes it works, but other times it says 'unformated dvd consult dealer blah blah' and I am wondering what is causing this error prompt. All of the files are there, and since it loads sometimes, I know I am not missing a file. Should I try burning it with a different program?
I am open to any ideas.
I like the new more mature navi voice BTW.
Oh yeah, I have already used the search feature....
Thanks GM for telling me to post here.

You should consider burning it with different media, those Verbatim DLs aren't the easiest to be read from if you research them. The read issue is not the head unit's fault if you are giving it a poor-quality DVD backup from an unknown source.
Try using direct iso read mode instead of file copy, or vice-versa if it is still giving your problems. I am assuming you own the 2.4 navi disc to make your own backup. Piracy discussions are not allowed here.
