just installed these and WOW, what a difference. The tweeters made a huge difference as did the center center as i use my iphone connected to xm to listen to music. there is so much more clarity and definition, especially for drums, guitar riffs etc...
btw, i also have a spare Infinity 3032cf center channel up for sale in the Black market.

did you notice this is a 2 year old thread? 2 ohm is what you want with the OEM amp.

i can tell you i was not overjoyed by the infinities when I had them, and went a different route.

I tend to prefer silk tweeters myself, but I'd like to take the path of least resistance when it comes to installing them. Is there any other recommendation that installs just as easy?
Also: price. Those Infinity 1031ts are really cheap on Amazon right now.

There are plenty of tweeters that drop in! You get what you pay for. If your not adding amplification i would not bother. Stock is adequate

I would not do the Infinities especially of you like it loud. They will make your ears bleed. Many tweeters drop in. I used the Dynaudio 102 tweeters which are large for a small format and they looked factory just dropped onto the factory hole. For a smaller tweeter its common to cut a hole in the factory tweeter grill to cleanly mount them.
I'm using large format tweeters now, originally 4" in diameter and I don't think I can ever go back to a small format. You get the best of all worlds but its very hard to find a spot for them. It's worth it to me but its a lot of work.

I know it's an old thread, but has anybody that did this mod years ago have any issues with the stock amp? Just curious if everything is still working as it should and what tweeters have held up.
Who is still happy with the Infinitys? They're $40 a pair on Amazon.
Also these Polk 3.5s don't look bad for $40 a pair either.

The center channel is barely used when listening to CDs or the radio. You can go from stock to the best mid out there and you'll never hear the difference and this is coming from someone with an audio obsession.
I was happy with the Infinities for a short time. They will wear you out after a while.

I can tell a slight difference in volume when I turn the center channel up and down but again I'm sure you're right it won't be a massive difference, just seems like a cheap enough upgrade to add a little clarity. It sounds like hands free link is coming out of the dash and the phone always sounds a little more crackly through that then on the phone itself, I'm wondering if call quality would be slightly better.

So I installed both today, I did the center first to see if I could notice a difference cause I figured the tweeters would wash it out. The Polk I used has pretty high sensitvity and a tweeter in the middle so I did notice a slight difference in highs with just that installed, overall nothing overwhelming and not really worth swapping out unless it's blown, but the stock speaker in there is pretty shitty looking. The Polk fit right in after trimming the little alignment tab next to the screw holes and there was a good amount of wire to work with, I cut the connector and soldered it in.
For the tweeters, I used the crossovers that came with them instead of the stock ones cause I wasn't gonna bother soldering the little ones attached to the new tweeters. Just used a few dabs of epoxy to hold the new tweeters to the covers, soldered on the crossovers, soldered to factory wires. The tweeters make a massive difference, the stereo sounds crisp and more alive.
