Another Bluetooth phone confirmed

I was previously using a T630 by Sony Ericcsson with my TL but needed better functionality of the phone. I recently came across the new Motorola V80 (available internationally and ebay, but not in the US as far as I know) and it works great!!! No problems, doesn't show battery life, but thats not a huge deal, it shows signal, phone number and picks up and hangs up phone calls just fine. The cool thing is, once the car loses connection with the car it turns off bluetooth automatically! Lastly, the phone is SLICK!

a pic or two

I got mine from ebay

Wow, that really is a cool phone. Haven't seen anything like it.

When you say it turns off blue tooth automatically...does that means you have to turn off blue tooth on other phones when leaving your tl?

Lastly, I have Cingular. How do I know if I have 850Mhz...that doesn't work?

Thanks, Scott

my old phone the SE T630 i had to turn off blue tooth manually on the phone after i left the TL...

with this phone, I just walk away from the car, and once the phone loses connection with the car it automatically turns bluetooth off! Also, this phone does not support 850Mhz, so it won't work with Cingular

Depending upon your city, Cingular has 850 in some cities and 1900 in others. This is why all new Cingular phones are at least dual band 850/1900. Phones like the Moto V400/600 are quad band and have both US bands and both Euro (900/1800) bands. I don't recommend the V80 phone because it is likely 1900/900/1800, which means you only get one US band and may have reception and roaming problems.

According to www.wirelessadvisor.com Cingular has 850 mhz around here. I really want a Nokia 6230, hopefully Cingular will get them sometime soon. The v80 is really nice, but seems like more of a novelty phone to me.
