Amplifier advice needed!
Hello ive got an 07 TL w/nav, I just recently installed new front and rear speakers, and theyre much better than stock. Im just running into a problem when I try to crank the volume past 25-30 I get a crackling in the sound. Theres no way the speakers are blown They were installed 4 days ago. So my thought was the amp isnt pushing enough power to the new speakers. In which case I need advice for a new amp to push the speakers, though I have very little audio experience, just barely enough to know how to install the speakers myself. My setup is-
Front speakers - DB5251's(components) 5 1/4" 100w RMS/250w peak, 4ohms
Rear speakers - DB651's 6 1/2" 165w RMS, 4ohms
If any suggestions for an amp to power the fronts(not all that concerned with center channel) rears and the stock subwoofer it would be very much appreciated, one thought was the Rockford Fosgate r600x5 not sure how reliable it would be though. Once again any input on what I should consider would be greatly appreciated!

The stock speakers you had were 2 ohms, so part of your problem could be that you're using 4 ohm speakers. I believe you're underpowering your new speakers. The stock speakers were running at 20w rms for the fronts and rear. Even the sub runs at only 40w.

The speakers were reccomended to me from Crutchfield rep. Only reason I got them, so if I were to get a new amp to send them more power would that fix the problem you think, or would i still run into the same problem of the speakers still getting a crackle sound at high voulmes? Like I said before i have very little car audio expieience, just barely enough to do the install and thats about it
You're indeed clipping, which in short means you're lopping off the peak of the natural sine wave. At 4-ohms you've mis-matched impedance, which is 2-ohms for the mids and tweets, 8-ohms for the center channel in the existing ELS setup.
My honest recommendation is to return the speakers and drop down to 2-ohms. You're going to need an LoC (Line out Connector), cables, and an amp...which will run you about another $300 - $450 on the cheap. I have been running with upgraded fronts, tweets, and center channel (I removed the rears) with GREAT satisfaction. I do, admittedly, have about $1100 tied up in sound dampening, deadening, and a high-end sub setup (Alumapro RX DVC with an Arc Audio XXK-2500).

The speakers are distorted because they are not getting enough power and are clipping. The problem is not your speakers but the factory ass amp. When you crank up the volume it tried to send more power but instead sends noise.
What you do now?
Get a aftermarket AMP. Trust me and every other person who have done this already, it will sound 1000X better and clear. The speakers you have are great. Don't change them.
Get a 4-ch/2-ch AMP that is able to power these speakers. The one problem you may have is that 6.5 speakers are rated 60w RMS (Although I bet they can take more) each while the 5.25" are 100W RMS. So get a 4-ch AMP for this and have the rears (low power) on ch3/ch4 so you can turn the gain down as compared to the ch1/ch2 which will connect to your 5.25" speakers.
