AM Station dropped off? HFL gone?

2 separate issues...

First, my HFL just stopped working about 5 months ago. Pain in the butt but i'm not spending hundreds + to replace it. Unless there is a fix...

It goes into discovery but cannot find my phone. Used to work perfectly and then in the middle of a call it just stopped.

Secondly, today. I'm driving in an area that gets my favourite AM radio sports talk show where the reception can sometimes be spotty. Then, it just stops receiving this station all together. All the other AM stations are perfect. I'm now in a known really good reception area and I still just get static. The station is fine - I can receive it through my iPhone.

What to look for?

I know... if you need more info, please ask. I can live without the hands free (barely), but not my sports talk... Lol!

Thanks for any assistance!

if youre not able to get those two things fixed you can get a cassette aux adapter and stream your radio station and phone calls through the tape deck.

How's that for a change of pace... stream am radio from an iphone through a cassette deck... From the 60's, to the 2010's back to the 80's...

I'd prefer if the car's systems worked though...

understand, i just mentioned that if all else fails. its a $10 easy solution.

however, i would reconsider if your am channel is spotty as you said it was.

Just b/c you can get the station through your phone doesn't mean their analog broadcast is okay. Through the phone it is usually a broadcast of their online service. They may be having a problem with their over the air broadcast. I'd check on a different analog AM radio and see what you get. AM issues are usually antenna related and if all the other stations come in fine, it is more likely a problem with the station.

Thanks!

Never knew that about the online stations...

Yes, it's weird though. All my other stations come in great. Just this one station "dropped off". There it was... gone.

Was thinking maybe it was a function of the radio itself losing the actual band.

Of course, this at a time when Brian Burke from the Leafs is let go... and the Fan 590 perhaps was let go as well?...

Well, the station did have a problem! As earlier poster had said, online streaming was ok.

Thanks for the help with this!

But... HFL is still not functioning... Any reasonable fix for this?

Replace the HFL yourself for @ $160-180 in part cost -- it took me less than ten minutes, and can be done in five if I had to do it again. Take a look at the post numbers 180 onwards in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/bluetooth-fails-792642/.
