I've searched the threads and seen various mentions of this problem before. In my case it is NOT:
- differnt key-fobs
- battery loss/disconnect

In this case my 07 tl which everything works fine...lost all presets on every radio freq. XM's all went to channel 1, despite no disruption in service etc... I've seen various posts for just xm losing presets, but this was the entire radio. NAV kept memory. What do you think...gremlin?

 

how old is the car, 3 months? if so, this can happen when XM deactivates itself from the trial mode.

 

The car is 8 months old. XM had expired, I renewed it for the $77 deal. Reprogrammed all the presets and 3 days later they disappear.

Reprogrammed them and it has been a week...no problems yet?????

 

I'm thinking gremlin......but then again my 07 lost presets as well the first few days I owned it. Set them all up when leaving the stealership, after 2 or 3 startings, all presets on ch1.
Set up again with different keys, next day all back to channel 1.
Never happened again since then. Maybe something to do with the changeover when the 3 month free service kicks in or something?
I'm due for getting regular service soon (freebie expires), so I will check to see if it happenes again during the change over

 

This happened to my 1 week old 2008 last night. Any thoughts?

 

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Bought the car 12/31/07. No problems then all the presets gone as in the other post. Wasnt working on the car or anything. Bizarre. I was thinking of calling my dealer to see if its a known bug or anything. Will report back if I find anything interesting...

 

this happend to me too, I programed everything leaving the dealership, drove it home and then when I went out later everything was lost...including my xm subscription, called and they reset it. then when I shut the car off it lost the subscription again....gotta bring it in for them to check it out

Spoke to the dealer, they said 'huh, thats odd.' gee thanks.

But the weird part is I went back out this afternoon to reset them and like magic they were all already back! I have no idea how/why????

A similar thing happened to me and my 2006, but it really was the FOB. My Wife opened the car while I was still shopping one day- no radio presets were defined on her profile because she never drives the TL. I get back in the car (it was unlocked by her earlier) and find all my presets gone. I get home and lock/unlock the car with my FOB and (magically) I get my presets back. The presets occur based on unlocking the car- hence the Driver #1/2 Detected message on the MID. Any chance that something like this happened to you? I find you don't get your presets by hitting the #1/#2 door buttons- only the FOB returns the presets.

 

Same thing happened to me today, AM/FM/XM all gone. However, after turning the car off at my destination, it sat for over an hour and when I came back and got in they were all back. This was on an 08' TL-S.

It seems like this is becoming pretty common from reading several threads on it. Has anyone mentioned this to the dealership if they had it in for service?
