Alpine PDX4.100 goes into protection.

This has already been discussed but with a mono amp,My alpine pdx goes into protection everytime I turn it up really high around 35 on my stock stereo of my 2005 acura TL,on this previous thread

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/alpine-pdx1-1000-goes-into-protection-644544/

he said he lowered the voltage input and it work fine for him we do have the same amp but my 4 channel amp doesn't have this feature.Could it maybe be HP or LP I have checked the ground and I replaced new battery.

I have a PDX 4.150. When I get a chance I will check mine.

I also have a PDX 1.600 and this setting is present on that amp.

Nope.. It's not there. Question, how are you connecting your inputs? are you using a Line Out Converter/signal processor or are you connecting the inputs at speaker level? the PDX series amps do not work with speaker level inputs.

Since our audio system has an amplified output, the signal is too high to go into an amp. You have to do one of 2 things in order to "tone down" the signal to preamp level before feeding to an amp input.

1. Use an LOC (Line Output Converter) http://davidnavone.com/cart.asp?14&pid=212

2. Install a signal processor
- RF3Sixty.2
- JL CleanSweep

Another thing you can do is get an amp that can accomodate high level inputs. the PDX series amps from Alpine do NOT accomodate high level inputs. This is why your amp is cutting out.

I'm using the PDX 4.150 to power my main sound stage. I have it set to full range because i'm using a signal processor (Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2) to filter out the frequencies i don't want before going to the amp.

Yes the LC7 would work better for the surround sound, though. And it has auxilliary inputs for things like ipods, etc.

I don't think he removed the Factory Amplifier... cause I didn't... most processors require the high level signal from the factory amplifier...

he is 100% correct. That's the whole reason I went with an audio processor. I didn't want to mess with the factory setup.

Which audio processor did you go with? is that the only thing you need to install an Alpine PDX 4.100 and Alpine PDX 1000 amp? Or do you need a LOC AND Audio processor?
