Question Help With Crossover Location

I'm hoping I can get some help with where to mount my front crossovers for my components. Can I get some of you to chime in with where you mounted yours, and any advice you can provide for my install? Pics?

Thanks in advance!

I have component speakers in the front and rear. I squeezed my crossovers into the space below the rear deck. They are sandwiched between the trunk liner, and the bottom of the rear deck in the trunk. There is just enough space for four of them. It hides away all the wire mess, and I haven't had any problems so far. I put a little bit of Ensolite on the top of each crossover so they don't rattle with the vibration.

I mounted my rear crossovers on my amp mounting board, the fronts are under the front passenger seat. I unbolted the seat, ran the speaker wires from the amp along the passenger side running board, then under the carpet to the crossovers and then from the crossovers, I ran the 4 speaker wires (woofers and tweets) under the console. For the door speakers, I ran those wires over to where the stock amp is located to catch the factory wiring. I ran the tweeter feeds directly to the tweets from the crossovers.

Hmm. I thought it was best to keep crossovers as close to the components as possible? Man, it would be sooo much easier to just mount them in the trunk.

I haven't had any problems with them being mounted in the trunk. Is there any specific problems that are associated with them being too far?

Not that I can confirm. I thought I read somewhere that you have to keep them close to the components, but I couldn't find anything to support that when I googled it.

Maybe I got crossovers confused with capacitors

I've since mounted the crossovers in the trunk and everything sounds great. Except I think i blew the rear channels on the factory amp or the head unit. Stupid me swapped the inputs and the outputs on one of the rear channels by accident. Now I'm getting nothing out of the rear channels, even when i reconnect the factory speakers to the factory harness and the fader all the way to the rear.

I've since split the front inputs on the 3Sixty.2 to the rear inputs so I can utilize the other 2 channels on the amp and control the output levels seperately. Man it sounds so wonderful. When I'm no longer sick of looking at wires and speakers I'll tear apart the kick panel at the factory amp and tap the rear channels before the amp to see if I get any signal. I HOPE I didn't blow the rear channels on the Head Unit!!!!!!!!!!

bump

Does the TL have a circuit protector on the factory amp/hu that i could possibly reset to fix this? I've got nothing coming out of the rear channels, even using the stock rear speakers wired using the stock harness. I've disconnected the battery and it had no affect.

Thanks.

Here's where I put mine. When I attach the ceiling cover they are completely hidden. I used a little bit of ensolite to insulate from rattles.
