Question Are all '05 TL navigations going bad at the same time?

Hi all -- Just signed up for the forums but have been driving a TL for half a decade and loved every bit of the 80,000 miles I've driven it. I have been keeping up with the small things; I already replaced all the lights that were out on the Climate Control buttons .. (amongst other non navigation/electric components) so things are looking bright for this machine. However, there are some things that I just have to ignore for now until I find a solution. yug

Here is what I wanted to ask about: I recently bought a second TL, an Abyss Blue Pearl 2005 6spd m/t TL (#2) and noticed that the disk check notice is on the navigation screen. The audio works but the screen remains dark and nothing except for the two messages above pop up when the vehicle is on. Also, the disc reader in the back does not operate.
What is interesting is that when I started driving my original '05 TL (#1) that the okay/accept button for the navigation at the startup is not working anymore. There is nothing more frustrating to me about a car which randomly breaks down with no apparent/visual sign . I like my hardware .. software I have no patience for unfortunately. I think my DVD player in the trunk has gone to shyt on (#2) but what do you guys do when running into this issue?

I am hoping there is an easy solution as I liked my navigations on my TLs. Any help is greatly appreciated.
