Alarm Security LED from red => blue

Found alarm red led rather DIM
Swapped to super blue, very easy to do...don't even need to remove door panel

Here are some pictures....

I think you are mocking me.....

Not quite sure if you think this is lame or I don't know how to post pics.

With current security red led, you actually have to look for it, otherwise you wouldn't even notice it. With the updated "super blue led", as soon as you walk up to the car, you'll notice the flashing blue led. what so lame about that.

I also added a shock & a glass break sensor to the factory alarm, only thing this alarm is missing now is two way....but not a big deal. At least now the alarm will sound & the flashing led is noticeable now....

Can you give more details about the shock sensor...where did you purchase and where did you install it? I would like to do this as well

Going on a trip, but I'll come back to this. I got them for free, he told me they are cheap. You can get them at any car audio place, they stock them.

I just dropped my car off to have after market Pioneer avic Z3 installed, along with rear camera, bluetooth, ipod, usb & steering wheel interface. Can't wait till I get back....

I thought a pic is worth a thousand words

Just use a flat trim tool/flat screw driver wrapped in paper towel/cloth, pry at each end, whole assembly will pop right out. remove wire from assembly & pcb will pop right out, desolder the led & solder in new one. Make sure you have the polarity correct, there is a "silkscreen" on the pcb...showing proper polarity.

do the wires for the stock LED run into the cabin? i wanna tap into them to use for my alarms led. thanks

Umm yeah, of course they run into the cabin, where else? You can trace it where it goes but it goes through a network of larger and larger taped up bundles and gets lost. It would be really hard to trace at it's roots.

You either need a wiring diagram or you need to run an indpendent wire to the alarm LED. Running wires from the door to the cabin isn't fun. Just ask anyone who has done the 07+ side-mirror retrofit to run the signal wires.

i know it, thats what im trying to avoid having to do. well according to the diagram it runs to the door multiplex control unit. which is built into the power window control IN THE DOOR. Thats why i asked my question. so it look like i will have to run the led wires into the door from the cabin. Wow that blows!
