Aftermarket radio.

I have been doing a lot of reading on the forum and asking questions that have already been asked and answered but most of them years ago and the works of technology changes rapidly.

Is it possible to install an aftermarket radio in a 2004 tl non-navigation and still retain the use of all the speakers? If not what about retaining the use of the subwoofer?

Yes, you need to get a head unit with preamp outputs. You can then get the standard Honda/Acura connector (either the one with RCA connector for preamp or the one with pigtails and add RCA connectors to it). It then plugs directly into the cars connector.
For the subwoofer you need a RCA connector and then splice it into the subwoofer wires.
Also need to wire up the amp and antenna power turn on (blue or blue/white wire)....

Thanks, so I would bypass the factory amp?
The center speaker would still work?

You retain the factory amp, using the preamp outputs go to the factory amp through the rca type connections

Don’t think the center speaker works. I’ll check.

Center speaker working is a matter of what you hook back up. I don't think the center speaker is ever active unless you were listening to a DVD-A.

Hi guys, I have a 06 TL w/navi (bluetooth doesn't work), I was going to get a new oem module which is about $225 (I haven't looked recently). I had the idea to replace the radio. I found this boss bn965blc on the crutch site. It replaces my navi and this is what it's supposed to do. Backup camera, navi (honestly I use my phone), full BT connectivity (it can stream music) plus an am/fm radio and cd player. It was around $270. Now this doesn't include installation, I could see that being pricey, but I honestly don't know.

If you don't want the backup camera, there are many others. There are even radios that support apple play and android play.

Curious no one here is mentioning the steering wheel controls.
