Question Advice on Heat and cooling controls

Ok the best way to put it,

currently i have TL with Navi, All of that will be coming out, Since I want to inter-grade Full Windows 8 tablet.

I was looking around online and ebay, to find heating and cooling controls that we all have on the left and right side,
I would like to buy either navi or non navi radio and pull these controls out of there and inter-grade them on the lower panel and fiberglass everything to make it look OEM Look.

Would I have a problem If I use controls from a different radio?

I wouldn't think it will be a problem, but I just want to make sure and get some info before I do that.

Please let me know if I could just simply buy non navi radio from 2007 TL and just use the controls.

The only thing I care about is Controls, NOT THE RADIO!

Thank You

TL-Team

you need to keep the navi screen, so that it will keep the time above.

if screen is removed, clock function will be lost and will not look OEM any more.

Honestly I don't mind the time clock not being there.

in your attempt to keep an OEM look, you might as well keep the clock.

hey man, you're the one asking questions.

Im just telling you what we have found over the past 10 years. we have found that it looks horrible to have a weird time above, but then your tablet showing a different time...
is that what you want?
2 inconsistent clocks? lol

or you could just go into any of the tablet threads that we have here on acurazine so that you can learn on your own.

Lol
I'm looking for the controls only. I will be making fabrication to the console where OEM radio is located. That's why I really dont need clock at all. I just need left and right controls. I don't want to use the OEM that i have on a navi system. Incase of getting rid of the car, I could put it back to OEM look.

The HVAC board is attached to the NAV LCD. I separated the 2, and bought an extra bezel including buttons. Made a new box for the HVAC control board and moved it to where the center channel/ANC box is/was. I extended the harnesses for the buttons to the new HVAC board location. I also took the clock sub-display apart and covered that section of the LCD with matte 3M Scotchprint 1080 so I didn't have to see the wrong time, lol.
