Speakers/Headunit

Hey all, this site has helped me tremendously so thanks in advance to anyone who helps. With that said, bare with me, I'm a rookie.

I have a 2005 Acura TL non-navi. There's something wrong with my speakers because when the volume is turned up all the way to 40, it's at a comfortable level. Once I roll the windows down I can hardly hear the radio or CD player. I want to keep everything stock just get new front speakers.. if that's possible? Any suggestions on what speakers to get with keeping everything else stock?

Also on a side note, is it worth it to switch out my head unit (from non-navi to navi)?

Thanks again!

^sounds like your amp is toast. Same happened to me.

This website below fixed my amp, and were very helpful in describing what I was experiencing. I had low volume even when cranked. You could always call them and ask if they have any suggestions..
It cost ~$125 to fix amp.

I will let others with more experience in audio, help you with speakers. Many will say not worth it to swap to Navi (it's kinda out of date for the price you would pay), and integrating tablets are the better option.

Thanks for the response, would it be better to just buy an aftermarket amp other then fix the old? I'll check that website out.

Also, I have an ipad I never use.. Do you have the thread to integrating tablets?

^I guess depends on your goals. I am not an audio guru, but I have read that you would need a 5 channel amp (I believe) to retain the center speaker (like OEM). I just fixed my amp to have audio again, at normal levels.

As far as tablets, just scroll down through this page or the next. There are several write-ups on what tablets people have used.

Here is a Nexus tablet diy....
