Pics showing up now.. every time I refresh I get a different pic...

The video looks good, but the install looks a bit sloppy I want to put my dvd player inside the arm rest also.. but I hope it looks a lot better. Nice job though.

The DVD player install looks real sloppy, but keep it closed and it doesn't matter.

You can all thank me later:

I like the idea.. How did you do the hookup.. what connections did you need to make for this to work? what is the size of the dvd player and brand..

Details on this would be awesome

I didn't get a response email notification

I don't know why the pictures don't show up for everyone, it shows up fine for me. It must be something with imagestation.

I would like to have done a trim for the dvd . In order to do that, the face of the armrest need to be cut and resewn with a new face. My friend didn't mind since the dvd plays at any angle; it plays with the armrest closed.

The dvd player is a generic din sized one from Microvision. I used the converter from Converters.tv for video. For audio, I used a relay and interrrupted the XM signal.

As for cost, it was for a friend so I charged him for the cost of parts and and a little of labor. That equalled $400

Which converter did you get from converters.tv? I like the rear armrest DVD install. Easy to switch DVDs from both the front and back seat!

There is no where else to put it. The glove box is too small.. the only other place really is under the seats.

How much is the install guys ? For the Avelectronic DVD switcher, does the front part of the entire dvd, and audio system MUST come out, like in the pics posted by EggrollExpress if anyone remembers. Is that the only way to go about installing the dvd switcher.

I dont know about the Ave unit but the front part does not need to be removed for the conversion. Everything you need is in the right rear corner. You will need to run the ir/switching wires to the front. The unit will fit behind the panel, why that guy put it on the outside is a beyond me.

Explain? I am not sure what you mean about does the audio system and front part of the entire dvd must come out? Check out my thread, I am not sure if you're talking about them having to be visible, if so, the avelectronics unit does not have to be visible.
