acura keys

I have a 2005 tl I have to replace one of my keys just wondering if I can relace it with 2008 model that flips out?

I work for honda

Im a repair associate for honda so I work on acura and honda everyday I tryed to reprogram my new switchblade keys just to work with the doors but they wont work I didnt think you had to have keys reprogramed from the dealer to get this function to work?Any idea

Check the thread posted above---I believe you need to get the immobilizer chip from your old key for the switchblade key to work.

Keyless entry

I'm sorry I posted wrong I was wondering if the keyless entry would work still I tried to reprogram keyless entry #1 user but the keyless won't work just want to make sure you don't have to change the reader exciter to get it to work.Reader exciter is the immobilizer unit that comes with the keys at the factory?
