9006 bulbs aftermarket not fitting

9006 bulb my dad put in, it fits nicely and easily. This one has more material to the left of the centre for the top tab.

1/2 of the ones from Amazon. Notice the top part is sort of inverted. This one has more material on the right of centre.

I sanded the extra material on the right of the other Amazon one. Tried to fit but still same issue and no luck.

Any idea why it’s not fitting? Got another pair from Amazon, same fitment issue from different seller.
This is for my DRLs (the innermost lights in the housing). last exterior bulb that isnt LED.

first I’ve seen this conversion thing. All the sources I’ve used for sizing point me toward the 9006, not 9005. But I noticed today the bulb that fits wel is…9005. Is this perhaps a US/Canada difference since the 9006s usually have less output than the 9005 (used for high beams)?

I’ll file down the top piece and see if it fits better

First Acurazine result for "Acura TL bulb size". I thought this would have been correct since it was supposed to be a guide.
Also checked Auxito that says 9006, but thats on me since its a Amazon LED vendor.

Can you confirm your year? I haven't seen it mentioned in your threads. Also you're in Canada right?

Whoops, yeah should have mentioned. Its an 06 based in Canada, so i dont have the 2 projectors in the headlight housing. I ordered some blue-ish 9005s, and will confirm if they fit tomorrow.

I wonder if the US models have the same bulbs but for fog light usage since its called fog lights there, but DRLs here.

Update:
The 9005 bulbs do fit into the housing properly, unlike the 9006. I couldnt get the 9006s to fit even with the top tab fully taken out.

However, the 9006s do not stay lit up. i did a series of experiments, and hope this gives some clue to the issue:
I also bought a
decoder/resistor thing decoder/resistor thing
that is required, but no luck

-LEDs plugged in with the resistor= No light,DRL light on dash. This SHOULD have worked as it is the normal setup.
-LEDs plugged in withour resistor= No light, No DRL on dash.
-Above, but i reversed the resistor-housing connection (in case polarity was a thing, but clips suggest its one way only, but just in case). No light, No DRL light on dash
-Above, but also reversed resistor-bulb connection, same result.

-One LED with resistor, one directly plugged into housing= only LED without resistor lights up, DRL light on dash
-LED with resistor, stock halogen plugged to housing= LED is lit, DRL light on dash, and the halogen bulb's filament glows slightly (no real light production, but the halogen filament is glowing)
-LED plugged to housing, halogen plugged to resistor= LED on, Halogen off, DRL dash light on.

Both bulbs work, both resistors "work" in that they conduct electricity. Whats the issue?
When LEds are lit, they stay lit. No flickering.

LEDs in fogs without relay harness won't work.
