8 inch OEM Sub question

Does anybody know which color wire to the rear 8 inch sub is Positive ???

I am adding another sub/amp and need the signal from the factory sub to my high-pol adapter.

I hope somebody has an answer. I am ready to install my amp and cap. Sub is finished

There really isn't a positive wire per sae. Just make sure that you match the phase correctly to the rest of the system... typically the striped wire goes to the + terminal and the solid one to the - terminal. switching them around = sub 180 degrees out of phase with the other speakers. you can look at the other speakers to determine what wire goes where. Also, make SURE that if you are tapping off of the speaker level outputs that you put those to the Speaker Level Inputs on your amp.

There are wiring diagrams for the stock system somewhere around here from many years ago.

I agree that it doesn't matter much. Matching the phase to the rest of the system is most important. You could possibly find that even though they're hooked up correctly electrically you might still have to swap polarity to sound right.

Once the system is operational, just try it out for a few days one way then reverse the polarity. Go with whatever sounds the best.

Post #26+#27 may be helpful. I'm going to be installing a single 10" sub soon as well (separate box), so let us know how your install goes!

FYI, the red/blue and white/green wires from that other post are from the harness that runs between the HU and the factory amp. If you want the wires that run from the amp to the sub for speaker level inputs, then + is yellow/black and - is light green/red.

Now I need to figure out which wire up front I have to run to the amp (+) turn on lead ? Where do I find the ignition wire on the fuse box up front ?
Or any suggestions. I did this before, but not sure what I did. ???

It's the red/yellow wire going from the HU to the factory amp

Its BEAUTIFUL to me and thats all that matter

I already know this, Thanks anyway. I have been building subs, putting in custom car systems in cars since 1982

And Home speakers, subs, center speakers 100% by had built the best possible way. I have several books I have read since 1982.

I personally like the box. I wish I could make stuff look nice. I'm good at functional, not so good at pretty lol.

I like the box too. Reminds me of some high end home theatre equipment.
