3rd Gen TL Sub replacement "issue" - please help.

Hello,
2004 TL - I'm a car audio n00b who planned on swapping out the stock sub for a JL audio 8W3v2 as many have seemed do due on the forum, in an attempt to add a little more bass, and it seemed like a straight forward swap. I unfortunately purchased the wrong sub off ebay! I got a 8W3v2-D2 Dual 2 Ohm sub, not a 8W3v2. After removing the seats etc, then removed the factory sub, I realized I'm not able to hook this up as the factory sub only has 1 connector. A friend tried hooking it up as 4 Ohm (I think he said in parallel, but I cant recall..) but you can barely hear it. I'm wondering what can I do to salvage this install. Please help! I'm now confused due to all the different posts I have looked at, and I'm stuck. Also, I'm driving around with no back seats until I figure this out! Thanks everyone.
Wishful Requirements
I want to keep stock appearance.
I would like to use the 8W3v2-D2 sub if possible.
I'm willing to add in a second amp / replace factory amp, but would like to keep costs down...
Would like to be able to control the sub level by the factory deck (as it does stock)

I think the stock subwoofer is a 2 ohm load, so if you have the leads on ur new subwoofer connected in parallel it should give you a 2ohm load as well wich would be plus to plus and then to stock amp plus and the same thing for the negative. But still i think it wouldnt be enought power to drive that subwoofer properly so adding a small amp with a loc shouldnt cost u to much and u can still keep the stock look with much improved bass.

Thanks for the reply, Can you recommend a small / cheaper amp that i can sneak into the setup that will push this sub? Will pretty much any amp push the speaker?
I think one of the issues is that it has dual voice coils. The documnetations says if wired in series it becomes 4 ohm (that is how we hooked it up), in parrallel it becomes 1 ohm (which is dangerous to your amp i heard, so we did not hook it that way).

oh i thought u had a dual 4 ohm sub but its a dual 2. I would get a two channel amp that does about 150 at 2 ohms per channel.

maybe something like this http://sonicelectronix.com/item_2099...04KX350.2.html
