3GTL/2GRL Bluetooth Phones Compatibility...
Did you get a HTC touch pro 2 paired with a TL? What year TL and which Cell phone provider. Just got a Sprint Touch Pro 2 today and can't seem to get it paired. I've had a Touch Diamond and the previous Touch pro and got them both paired but this new Touch Pro 2 seems to have some new bluetooth software.. Tried searching both ways and neither way found anything. Thanks for any help.
If I remember correctly, the MID will display the phone strength signal, battery level and caller ID. I'm not sure about phonebook since I haven't messed with that ever since I got the car 3 years ago...lol...
Just ordered the My Touch G3 from T-Mobile. Based on the G1 it appears that it should pair up fine. Anyone already pair up and can report on their success?
I'll post my results after I get mine and played with it for a bit.

As promised. I just got the MyTouch. Paired up immediately and off the bat I have signal strength and battery strength. The calls are clear and no droped calls so far.
Since I have an '05 I'm not sure if there is anything else I need to look for. If there is, let me know and I'll check it out.

i was able to connect to my '04 TL with no problem but some people complain that they can barely hear me. were you successful?
I flash/flexed my moto V525 to V600 45R firmware Still no battery meter only caller ID and Signal strength.
My friends SE T616 shows Battery, Signal strength and Caller ID in the TL
HFL sound quality is excellent on the V525 and recently flashed to V600.
Latest fireware on the SE T616 has fix the previously un-acceptable HFL quality. Now its excellent

I just bought an Apple iphone 3gs. When I try to pair it to my 04TL, the Tl freezes right after issuing the password and the pairing in unsucessful.
I can't get the Tl off the password prompt even after removing the key from the ignition. I got desperate and disconnected the battery to reset the system.
I tried to pair them again, and once again, the system TL system froze. I did this 3 times in a row with the same result. Help please.

my iphone 3g paired great with the 05 tl. only issue is sometimes when i'm on a call before entering the car it tries to sync with the car once it's on and i lose the call usually. sometimes it just puts it back on the iphone but i've been very happy with the pairing of the two. too bad the 05 tl doesn't do stereo bluetooth as well
I am looking at getting a touch screen phone with Verizon Wireless and looking at LG Chocolate Touch. Does anyone have this phone with their 3g TL?
Also, does anyone have LG Versa, Samsung Rogue??

I can confirm that this is a problem. While attempting to pair my myTouch both the audio and MID freezes. It freezes in the discovery mode. The myTouch confirms the pairing, but displays unable to connect. I've tried multiple times with the same result.

just got LG Chocolate Touch on Verizon. Easy to pair, has battery, caller ID, signal strength and transfers calls. Have not tried the phonebook yet. So far I like it, only question is that I can't get five bars of signal strength but have not had any problems with calls.
I have 2005 non navi. Hope it helps.

Took a leap of faith (plus belief in the remorse period) and picked up the Cliq yesterday. It wouldn't pair out of the box, but from a Motorola Cliq user forum found that many other Handsfree owners had the same problem and it had been solved by upgrading the firmware to version 1.1.31. After getting T-Mobile to help push that to my phone, still no success using the normal pairing steps. I eventually put the Cliq in discoverable mode, had the TL search for devices, then made the Cliq search for discoverable devices. Presto; the Cliq found the TL's HFL and prompted me for the passcode. Entered it and everything was fine.
I tried with the car one..pressed the HF key on the steering and said "pair phone" but it couldnt find the iphone and my iphone couldnt find the car

Someone PLEASE help, this would be VERY appreciated
'05 TL non-navi----my LG Dare paired perfectly with the HFL and works perfectly. The only complain when testing was that people I talked to said my voice was clear but a little soft. Other than that, all functions were great, and it pairs automatically when I get into the car and start the engine.
Also, my girlfriend's HTC Droid Eris paired perfectly, too, and I must say that it's such an awesome phone!
Both of us are on Verizon, of course. . . .

Those phones are only available through Verizon, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.
Oh, and I haven't tried (on my Dare) to sync up the contacts or anything. I'm not sure if that's possible with my HFL system or the phone itself, but in terms of calling out and receiving calls, it works great! Now I just need people to call me instead of text to make this useful.

HTC touch pro 2 on Verizon paired perfectly. shows signal & battery.
One strange occurrence that i noticed is that i *think* if the phone is still within BT range of the car, if I make outgoing calls, I will not hear the other caller because I think the call is still going through BT to the car instead. Only happened once, and I walked a distance from the garage to fix the issue.

I just got an HTC Hero (GSM - TELUS version : http://www.telusmobility.com/en/ON/htc_hero/index.shtml ) for Christmas. It pairs with my 2004 TL, everything works fine except caller id. It just displays "incoming call" or random dashes "- - ", unless I receive a call waiting beep while already on the phone, then the incoming number shows up.
Any AT&T users on here with an unlocked Hero from TELUS (Canada) with a similar issue?
I usually have the phone in my jacket pocket or in the console while driving, so I can't look at the phone screen.

Also I had a BlackBerry Storm (9530) also a TELUS version, unlocked and running with a Rogers SIM card on GSM. The strange thing with that phone, is Caller ID did not work for 50% off the calls on the phone's display but worked 100% of the time in the car's display. It was strange since the phone would display unknown caller, but I could see the caller's number on the car's MID.

Anyone tried pairing a Sony Ericcson 905a with the TL yet? I'm thinking of updating my 637t to this model and don't want to risk having it not work right. Thanks in advance for any info you can give.
i try to pair my motorola droid with my 04 tl and it did not work. is there any APPs download to get it to work? i think it just the car? When I try to pair it to my 04TL, the Tl freezes right after issuing the password and the pairing in unsucessful. reset and try 3 time with same result. the system TL kept froze. any idea guy? plz.
I have paired Nokia E61, E71, E75, N97 and HTC S743 with my '04 TL. They all work a little differently (may or may not show battery, etc), ut they all work. The N97 is quirkiest, always can answer but sometimes refuses to call (get "Call Not Allowed" message on the phone). One thing to remember - a lot of phones won't make a call if they are locked (N97, E75 for sure), and a lot of phones are set up to lock after a few minutes of inactivity. So you might go through the pairing, seemingly successfully, and then still not be able to make a call. Good Luck!
whitedrgons,
I have no additional Apps to assist with the pairing. What I did is after the TL asked for my password, I set my Droid to search for BT devices, since the car seemed to be sitting there while my Droid's countdown timer for "Discovery Mode" was running out. It came up with the "HandsFreeLink" and I told it to pair. Everything worked after that. Had a few conversations and it is very clear. Hope this helps.

Wow, sorry to hear that. The only thing I can think of is that the nav and non-nav systems may be slightly different. I have a non-nav system. Should have clarified that... Did your car come back after the reset?
