Thank you for doing this. I do have a suggestion though. Maybe we can put the phones that work with HFL and the service provider that offers the phone. That might be useful to those looking for a Bluetooth phone.

rets: one thing is that these mobile providers constantly change the price of their phones before and after rebate so its hard to tell.

Yah, I think the same thing. Maybe we just remove those providers' info, and put their system specifications instead, like GSM and 1900, etc.

Plus, if this thread needs to move on, we have to continue to add the new phones/models into the list.

You may also have to note discontinued models. The Siemens S56, for instance, is no longer available.

If you do the search, there are four threads talking about it.

For example, http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91644

It seems not to work properly at this moment.

I don't think the IPAQ 6315 will ever work with HFL...devices such as that and the SonyEricsson P800/P900, and the MS Smartphones all have huge screens. I think there is a correlation between PDA/Phones and their inability to function with HFL.

Verizon - Motorola V710

If your on the Verizon plan that gives you a new phone every 2 years with a two year plan renewal - you get a deal. I paid $80.00 for my V710not including the $20.00 rebate I just mailed out...

Just a suggestion, maybe the list should include which features display on the screen in the car for each phone listed(signal strength, caller ID, battery meter).

Add the Motorola i930 nextel phone. It has bluetooth technology that I'm pretty sure works with the TL.

Does anyone here ever use/know i930 actually working with your TL or your friend's TL?

Thanks.

Sound quality with SE T608 and HFL

I just got a SE T608 phone with Sprint PCS to work with the HFL in my Acura TL. Setting up was easy and I can originate and receive calls without any problem. However, I feel that the sound quality is not very good, more so at the other end. if how you speak matters. I am wondering if the placement of the phone matters and also Basically, the voice sounds kind of remote at both ends.

I would like to hear the experience of others with respect to this phone as well as others in the Acura TL.

Thanks in advance.

the nokia 6230 requires a manual connect each time you get in the vehicle as opposed to sony erricson t68i which connects automatically

So which of these phones don't distort the sound, if any? I have a SE 616 and it sounds like poo on the hfl. I dont use it. I have a feeling it may be the HFL itself.

You are probably correct; I suspect the same, but would need to do a couple of experiments before concluding. In the end, the HFL may be useful only for brief exchange since I can not imagine carrying on a long conversation on it.

I would also like to hear if anyone has been satisfied with the quality of speech on their cell phone with HFL. Is there a trick to phone placement, or speaking orientation that might help?

A friend of mine has had a SE T6xx since November 2003. He pick up his TL in January 2004. He had the same problem always sounded over modulated using the HFL in his TL. One day about a month ago we paired my Moto 525 with his TL and clarity was a 100% improvment over his SE phone. Last week his phone started rebooting all by its self. He called Cingular and they sent him a replacement same model I think its a T616. Anyway it has the latest firmware and is it now crystal clear in the TL with the HFL.

I flash/flexed my moto V525 to V600 45R firmware Still no battery meter only caller ID and Signal strength.

My friends SE T616 shows Battery, Signal strength and Caller ID in the TL

HFL sound quality is excellent on the V525 and recently flashed to V600.

Latest fireware on the SE T616 has fix the previously un-acceptable HFL quality. Now its excellent

n-gage

FYI

I recently picked up a Nokia N-GAGE QD. Its the smaller version of the original N-GAGE. Its is also compatible with the HFL, but no signal strength or battery meter. This shouldn't come as a big shock since the QD isn't that different than the original, but I thought I'd put it out there if anyone was interested.

I just got a Nokia 6820 (replacing my Siemens S56) because I need the international tri-band now. It works as well as the Siemens did (sounds great, no distortion problems) except that it doesn't show the signal strength or battery level.

One big plus with this phone is the PC software to sync with Outlook over bluetooth is light years better than the Siemens software.

Mike

Edit - Thanks to everyone who's posted their experiences on their phones here. I was able to avoid the bug-ridden Motorola V505 and the echo- and distortion-ridden SE models.

The V60 is ancient by modern times. Your best bet is to get a newer model than natively supports bluetooth.

It does not. As usual, Nextel is waaaay behind the 8-ball with no Bluetooth offering at this time. There is another post suggesting Jan or Feb '05, but I've been hearing that song for too long now.

How about Sony P900?

I have a Sony P900 phone, with TMobile. It is bluetooth enabled, and I use the technology with my earpiece right now. I plan to get my new TL with NAV within the next week or so.

Anyone know if this phone works well, or at all, with the TL's technology?

Thanks, everyone.
