scratched hood from cat!

After a wash & wax (trying out Mother's carnauba), got my silver actually looking very nice, a f&%ing cat jumps on the hood, starts to slide down, out come its f*&^ing claws... and now there's about a dozen foot long scratches in the hood. i took it back in the garage, and used the stage 1 & 2 waxes applied by hand. This got rid of about 90% of the damage, but there's still some marks.
So... has anyone used a power buffer / grinder with a pad set up to get out a deep scratch (its not down to the metal)? What kind of wax did you use? Did it work.
Thanks,
Graeme

just keep tyring to buff it out with a powered buffer, it will eventually disappear, but do it in steps so you don't "burn" the paint from buffing it too long
