2008 TL front speakers crackling

anyone have any problems with the factory ft speakers/tweeters crackling. the dealer didn't hear the crackling, i did..., and also a rattle in the sub. the dealer replaced the insulation, but there still is a rattle.. this car has been back to the dealer about 8 times in the past year. $27k down the drain. Anyone out there having the same issues that I'm having, or did I get the one bad 08 Certified TL out there.

Thanks

Jay

Bad speaker or bad amp. Both suck. Why not just replace it?

as these cars ONLY get older, I wouldnt rely on the warranty to much for something as little as speakers.

why keep going to the dealer if they say they cant "re-produce the problem"?

Funny thing is is that they actually might not be able to hear it lol. If it's faint enough or if it doesn't happen constantly, etc...that guys ears might not be able to hear it.

If audio is important to you, then upgrade for sure. It's really not that expensive if you do the labor yourself (which is VERY simple with everyone's help on here + the DIY's on here) it saves a ton of money! Purchase used equipment from DIYMA, here, etc and you'll get a much better product most of the time. My ID q450.4 is the only new thing I have lol. If you'd like, post up a budget and we can help.

You'd be surprised what you can do for very little if you do the work

Also, OP, these guys here on this forum arent your typical high school "lets put big speakers" in the trunk kind of guys.
I actually enjoy the high end speakers that they use and will be upgrading and using their advice soon.
Like trunk monkey said, you can find the equipment used , it'll be a lot easier on your pocketbook

My right front tweeter kept crackling, I bought replacements, still does it.
I am thinking the amp is allowing (bad caps) too much bass to the tweeters, over odulating them which causes the crackle.
New amp solves it.

An in-line cap providing a higher x-over point would probably do the trick. You'll want to block all those hurtful frequencies going to those tweeters according to the specs. Some can go pretty low but I don't think a new amp is going to solve this breakup you're hearing but you should buy one anyways cuz upgrades are always encouraged.
