hello, i read that someone on the TSX forum managed to switch a 2006 TSX (actually a 2006 honda accord, but same thing) navigation into a 2005 TSX. does anyone here know if it would be possible to take that 2006 navigation and put it into a 2006 or 2005 TL? I'm not just talking about the disc, someone took the dvd reader, and i assume the brain/processor of the device and was able to switch it.

i am ready to buy a TL but found out the new navigation is not in the car, and was really looking forward to the zagat guide on the navi, and may consider a TSX (what i was originally looking at anyways) because of this, thanks for all of your help!

 

Your choosing the car based on whether it has the Zagat information?

I'm sure if they switched it into a TSX and it worked that it would work on a TL though. Don't know for sure. Im curious as well.

 

i knew someone would say that, but it's not how i'm choosing a car, i would like a TL for the extra room, but at the same time, i like the TSX because its smaller and easier to park, living in NYC, street parking and manuevering through very tight spaces is common, so having a smaller car is nice too, plus i think the TSX handles a little better, while the TL is faster, i'm stuck in between, so that is just one of the factors, not to mention that navi also has some other features that are not on the older navi systems like the one found in the TL

This is just why I'm a little pissed at Acura; 06 TL has 'old' navi, why?

 

So Acura can promote their "new & improved" navigation system on the 2007 TL (MMC).

 

I have a subscribtion to Zagat online. It would be cool if i can find a good restaurant when i dont know where i am (i might be lost, but i can still eat)

 

All 2006 models from Honda and Acura will have the new navigation EXCEPT the TL which stinks!

 

This always happens. There is such a big market for upgrades and updates, why does Acura / Honda not offer an upgrade to the system to current car owners? It's definitely another revenue stream but they always steer clear of it...

Don't forget the 99TL hardrive and the next year, they release the DVD units...
