2004 TL Nav - Best iPhone set up?
First off... Hello Acurazine! I've graduated from my '98 Accord (GREAT 16 y/o car) to an '04 TL (Black/Tan/Nav). Just bought it with 117K.
I'm a frequent iPhone user, especially for music. What is the best set up to buy/install? I'm not too concerned with displaying video or hacking my Nav at this point.
Should I use USA Spec? iSimple? Any other suggestions? I would really like to be able to control my iPhone music through steering wheel/OEM controls. Viewing the song information on the screen would be great...but I think that contradicts me not wanting to hack my Nav.
Just looking for an experienced answer on the most compatible and economic choice out there.
Thanks!

iSimple is the most popular choice from what I have seen. It works great and is easy to install. I myself have a autotoys nav to video interface installed that has iphone integration but I've never heard of a device that will all you to control the iPhone via through steering wheel/OEM controls.
Whatever you do, don't get one from DICE Electronics. They're terrible. Randomly disconnects, shorts out, feels like the cheapest plastic ever.
If you're looking for a bluetooth audio solution, I would suggest getting the iSimple device, then order this http://goo.gl/rssTo . It's called the Blackberry Gateway, basically just receives a bluetooth signal and plays it through the AUX input. You would need a Micro USB car charger to go with it, so I would recommend routing the iSimple cord through the center console, and hooking up the blackberry device in there, so you could have the charger/blackberry/aux cord all hidden away!

Just installed the USA Spec HON3 in my 04 TL non-nav. Just getting used to it but so far so good. Only issue I'm having right now is with the Aux input and my Android phone. It's probably user error since I'm not up to speed on all the settings yet.

I'd stay with USA Spec or iSimple. USA Spec I think cost more but I can attest that they are rock solid. Both in terms of physical build and software ie not buggy. I've had them in 3 different vehicles over the years and in some pretty harsh climates from south west desert 110+ degrees to -30 degrees upper mid west without issue.
