This has been approved for posting, in case anyone wants to know.

The OP is allowed to post a ballpark price only, but that should give you some idea of what you will be paying.

question is can it display the stats for the A/C...

in fact I've seen alot of carputer installs that ended up rerouting the A/C screen down below to where the cubbie holes are.

I'd like to know (for future reference) are there any carputers out that can display the A/C stats as well.

The original screen is still in the stock location.

I wish there were replacement side pieces. As good as this looks, I still don't like the 1/2 circles.

If you already have a navi equipped car, then this will be a different ball game.

Does anybody have any ideas for making the silver trim look any better? It doesn't look too bad but would look much more stock if the silver trim was full.

-price will probably be around 150-200 with all the info you need to do the swap keeping ur stock subs working and climate controls and with the wiring harness needed

-yes the climate controls do work

-and what we can do with the side pieces is just fill in thos circles and repaint the side pieces a SOLID colour

-with in the month i just have them ready to ship
depending on the demand

- its about a full day and half job with everything including steering wheel controls, stock subs working with stock amp

- these kits can also come in any colour you wish

-ill get some more detailed pix up soon as possible

the faceplate looks good, but my question is where are the mounting bracket for the unit? are there brackets that allow the use of a universal metra pocket so a single din radio can be used??? I mean for $150-200 id expect more then a face plate.

- the unit mounts to the factory mounts perfectly and is for a double din only
- the one that will be shipping has a mount on either sidefor mounting to the dash to stock holes
-this faceplate is also painted any colour
-and comes with harness and instructions of how to get everything to work

If I were to do this, I would work on swapping the stock display with this faceplate so the aftermarket unit is where the stock navi display would go.

If you were to do this to a navi equipped TL, you are going to end up with two navi units and will lose the audio from the navi unit and HFL. I can't think of a way to mute for navi and HFL with an aftermarket HU.

What if you already have Nav and want to just replace the stock radio with an aftermarket Double DIN Head unit?

Example:

Here's the HU connections. When I did the navi conversion, I think the only lines I added to the HU was the audio from the navi unit.

So it's probably doable.

JerZdevil:

I have that HU. Works great.

Incridez;

More questions

How are these being manufactured?

Injection molding or one at a time?

The stock radio acts as structural piece for the upper and lower parts of the center dash area. The radio bolts onto the upper piece and the lower piece to hold everything in place. How is this addressed with this kit?

It looks like it's just the bezel to cover the existing HU opening.

The unknown right now is if the supporting brackets are included to hold both the upper display and the new double din HU.

Looks like it doesn't. You use the factory mounts. Probably some work to mount the aftermarket HU to the stock mounts.

i would def be on this as long as the price was right....but the colors seems to be a bit off....it there a way you could paint it to make it flow a bit better with the stock pieces.
