2 questions about new TL (HFL & NAV)

Just picked up a '06 TL Navi. Traded my '04 TSX and I am in love with this car. The TSX was sweet, but the TL is so much better.

2 quick questions for fellow owners:

1) What Navi DVD is the latest? Mine shows a version from 2005, I believe June. Is there not a more current TL Navi DVD?

2) Is it possible to insert a dialing pause in the HFL phone book? There are several numbers I dial which have an automated greeting, I then enter the persons extension to get directly to them. On my Blackberry 8700 I have this setup with ease... dial the number, pause for 6 seconds, send the extension.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome!

1) It's currently an orange disk version 3.50. Check here: http://www.acuranavi.com

Good question on number 2. Never thought about that, so I have no idea.

Thanks for your response.

I finally found the Navi DVD upgrade portion of the Acura website, and found the latest DVD is version 3.50, just as you stated. Pulled my DVD out and sure enough it's the latest version.

I also called HandsFreeLink last night to answer my second question... you can simply say "pause" and the dialing system will pause for 1.5 seconds before sending the next tones. The number of pauses is limited to 5 (ie 10 seconds) according to HFL customer care.

The pause works with some phones and not with others. It does not work with the v710—while you can insert it when you put the number into the HFL, it won't transmit correctly to the phone. I don't know why, nor whether this problem affects other phones. You just have to test it and see. The pause will show up as an underscore character _ on the MID.

I use pauses when dailing my voicemail with my E815 on the Verizon Network and it works just fine. Just say pause when entering the number into the HFL. The only thing is... in order to get the right amount of time to wait... I had to add about 5 pauses before the 2nd number.

I have Motorola Razr and while the system allowed me to insert a pause it did not work when trying to access my voicemail. Seems like it just stops the chain of numbers when it gets to the pause. Waited a while for this fix from Motorola as it used to freeze up the phone - now I can insert without freezing up the phone but still does not work!

bar2v, thanks for the advice. I was only using 3 and thought this feature was just broken with my samsung i730 on vzw. After I increased to 6 pauses, it works great!
