2 bluetooth phones with 1 TL

so i have a bluetooth phone and so does my brother..and we both synced our phones to the TL...and sometimes we are both in the car together...so...how does our TL decide who's phone it wants to pick up? can go back and forth if we decide to take a long distance trip? how does this work? thanks.

Prolly your TL will use the first phone it finds.

Btw, there is a command in the manual, which could allow you to switch your HFL between phones.. Sorry, I don't remember that.

I believe the answer to this was posted a while ago, but I think I remember the answer. It depends on which signal the TL detects first. I think BT has about a 30' range, so the person in closer proximity to the car first will be selected. Otherwise, one of you will have to either turn off your phone or disable the BT connectivity for the duration of your trip.

As much as I like the car phone capability, I don't think Honda/Acura thought that part through very well. It seems to me it should switch back and forth.

Only one phone can be linked at one time. Although, I believe this is a limitation in the Bluetooh spec itself, not the HFL. You can have multiple phones pair, but the system will only be linked to one at any given time. You can cycle through phone using the system menu.

My finance and I both have bluetooth phones and when we both get in the car, we usually turn one of the bluetooth off on the phone.
I find that easier because we made shortcuts on the phone to have easier access to that function/menu.
Also, it's quicker than doing it through the HFL functions.

Right. I used to do the same thing and keep others' BT off.

great information! So you're saying VOICE COMMAND, "next phone" at which one will allow the phone to be switched?

Now here is 1 question, suppose you stored numbers in your car. When that person calls, does the name show up or just the number?

I keep Bluetooth off for both phones and, like SHRXTC said, I have a shortcut to Bluetooth set up on the phones. It's simple enough to just link the phone when I get in and it drops when I get out and turns Blutooth off on the phone. It's really very simple. If you leave Bluetooth on all the time it shortens the battery life dramatically and also leaves the phone vulnerable to viruses, etc.
