i just bought an 08 tl. i could have sworn that befor when i go into reverse that BOTH of the side-view mirrors point down.
now, they dont point down at all in reverse UNLESS i move the mirror cursor(to the left of steering wheel) to left or right mirror, than the coresponding mirror will move in reverse.
for example, if i move the switch to the right mirror and shift to reverse, only the right mirror will point down, and vice-versa. do i need to call acura or did i mess something up when i was modifying my "keyless entry" setting?

 

I pretty sure thats all they all operate, at least mine anyways.

you messed something up- they both go down
check the owners manual for info like this!

 

Both mirrors can go down, but only one at a time can drop down when shifting into reverse, depending on the position of the mirror switch.
If the mirror switch is in the center, neither mirror will move when putting the trans in reverse.

OP's car mirrors are operating as designed.

 

I checked the owners manual and it says "Depending on the position of the selector switch, the left OR the right side mirror will pivot downward slightly when you shift transmission into reverse"

 

Doh! they keep changing this stuff- thats why I say check your owners manual~

 

I believe only one of them go down at a time. Both of mine are giving me a weird rubbing/rattling noise when either goes down. Has anyone had this problem? I have an 07 tl-s

 

if they are cracking or making noise bring it to acura they put new ones on.

 

they make a sound when the motor is repositioning the mirror. Normal

 

They do make a noise but it is way different than when I got the car...sounds as though the motor is messed up...I'll take it to the local dealership and see what they say

 

kinda like it's clicking into position correct? I actually see mine like bouncing down..

 

both mirrors won't go down at the same time. only one side at a time when you click your cursor either to the left or right....if you leave the cursor in the middle, both mirrors will not move down in reserve.

they were designed this way.

yup mine is doing that same thing just got off the phone with the dealer.... they said bring it in an they will gladly take care of it. no questions asked.

Mine too. Like the gears are out-of-synch with the motor; or the motor wants to move the mirror more than the gears will allow.

I'll have to mention it next time I'm in.

Ok well your definitely not the only one with that problem! I noticed the same thing too.... both the damn mirrors would fold down as soon as i shifted the gear into reverse. That was in the first week ...and then same thing, I have to adjust the mirror cursor to the left or the right whenever the gear is in reverse. And I have an 07 tl.

Ah well I never use the darn thing much anyway...sometimes it folds down too much and I cant see anything anyway.
