07 TL Trip computer

Twice now for no reason my trip computer has reset the AVE MPG only, not sure why or how it happens, just turn the car on and when I hit the trip computer the MPG is 0 while the Distance, MPH and time are all fine. Anyone else have this happen?

I have seen it twice now in the three months I have had the car. I usually have that screen on and I see it resetting itself for no apparent reason. Also I have noticed that my MPG is about 1.5 to 2 MPG off from what I calculate and my MPH is about 1.5 miles off when I divide miles driven by the time shown in the screen.

I am also finding the MPG to be about 1.5 off, funny as my 04 TL was almost dead on as was my 06 TL.

Regardless, Acura still hasn't added the instantaneous MPG guage that comes with the Accord Nav system....something that would meet the boundaries of common sense considering what's happenning with gas prices these days. I thought that maybe they'd wake up for the '07 with the new information display.

TL buyers pay $$$$'s more than Accord buyers, and have every right to expect at least the same or better functionality, NOT LESS!

Mine has done it once. I had just refilled and reset the the A trip, when I went back to the trip computer screen my MPG and MPH were both at 0 but my mileage was still the same. I think the "brain" for the MID needs a flash update!!!

I'm with you DMZ...

I'm up to twice now too. Anyone know how we can officially file a complaint with Acura on this issue aside from going to the dealership?

Mine has done it now four times, so I will seek a fix once I take it to the dealership for my free oil change.

Angry

I notice that no one has posted to this forum in almost a year. I have an '07 TL-S, and I just observed my trip computer doing this for the third time. The first two times, both the Avg MPH and Avg MPG reset, while Distance and Time were unaffected. The third time, it was only the Avg MPG that reset. For me, it has always happened when starting the car back up again after driving a while and stopping somewhere for 10 minutes or so. Is this the same pattern others have seen?

I too had an '04 TL before this and never had any problems. I haven't even had my first oil change on my '07, and this car has been riddled with electronic glitches, suspension clunking, and peeling paint. I don't understand how Acura could have screwed the car up so much between '04 and '07.

My 07 TL has also experiences the avg MPG and MPH random reset, however the time and distance are not reset.

Has to be a bug in the program, but it does not occur frequently. Maybe once a month...

read the owners manual...you can set the temp to read whatever you want...so there is room for an adjustment....

Wow, really!!! Thanks a bunch! I didn't know that. My Tc didn't have anything like that on it.
