07 TL subwoofer retrofit idea

I'm assuming there is some sort of free-air transducer hanging in the rear deck.. has anyone here tried to yank it out and put a small 6" in a real efficient bandpass and port it thought the factory cut-out?

Crazy idea.. I know, but I'm wondering if it's been tried.

There are a few of us with 2-12s in a very efficient bandpass and one with a single 10" shallow mount in a surprisingly small bandpass all ported through the armrest. Judging from the single 10" in this enclosure, it takes up so little space I'm not sure how worth it it would be to do a 6" back there.

The problem with porting it through the stock sub location is the rattles back there. When I had the 12s firing into the trunk and even at the rear seats I had all sorts of rattles I couldn't get rid of. Now with it firing through the armrest there are no rattles until you get into the insane listening levels. If there's any sort of decent volume you're going to have rear deck rattles.
