Nav difference in 07+?

Are there any differences in the nav/audio in the 2007 and 2008 models compared to the older ones? Specifically, does the nav speak street names?

The 07 navi was overhauled and updated:

1. It speaks street names
2. Has Nav Traffic
3. Updated Graphical User Interface
4. Higher Resolution
5. Higher color count/contrast/brightness
6. Faster

speaks *some* street names. I've noticed it mainly speaks numbered street names (Interstate 94, Highway 101). Of course, the street names around here are unusual ones like "Winnetka" and "Bottineau," so it's not surprising that the car wouldn't be able to say them

change the setting to max prompts and it'll do it. On normal it won't, and on min it won't say the name at all.

argh. If I put it on max it never shuts up. Be nice if it would speak the street names, while not having to speak them every 200 yards

What if you have a 04-06 navi and want to upgrade to 07-08? Do you have to replace every thing?

Joe, the '07/'08 discs won't work in your year TL. Your car uses an orange disc and the '07/'08's use a white disc. I think the orange discs just had an upgrade too.

You would most likley have to replace everything to switch Navi systems. Maybe even wire harnesses.
